Powell Internet Consulting, LLC (PINT) announces the release of Job Center, a new sample application that allows Human Resources and hiring managers to manage job postings and resume responses on a corporate intranet or public Web site. PINT, a selected Microsoft solution provider, created this intranet template application using Microsoft Active Platform technologies.

With nothing more than a Web browser, hiring managers and related professionals can use Job Center to create new job requisitions and listings, as well as manage resume responses and interview schedules. Job Center provides an intranet application that is easy to use, and requires no knowledge of Web publishing techniques. Job descriptions are stored in a database which job applicants can search by category.

PINT's Job Center is a template application that can be developed to custom fit the needs of any business. PINT has already implemented a database-driven Human Resources section for TV/COM International, a division of Hyundai Electronics. Another PINT client, Pulse Engineering, uses a similar system on its Web site to recruit qualified engineers and other personnel. Realizing the benefits of using a database for delivering its online parts catalog and engineering data sheets, Pulse is implementing a Windows NT-based database infrastructure for its entire site.

As developed for Microsoft, Job Center showcases Active Server Pages (ASP) for dynamic page generation and Active-X controls for navigation. PINT has developed additional versions for greater client-side cross-platform support using Java-based navigation. PINT has also implemented versions of the application utilizing Allaire's Cold Fusion for dynamic page generation and database access.
