HTML: The Complete Reference Enters Third Edition
Posted: 12.22.00PINT, Inc. (Powell Internet) announces the third edition of the top-selling HTML: The Complete Reference, published this week by Osborne/McGraw-Hill. The comprehensive, updated third edition is expected to sell substantially more copies than the first two editions combined.
The third edition has been updated to the HTML 4.01 specification, covers browser support for Internet Explorer 5.5 and Netscape 6, and includes expanded coverage of XML and XHTML 1.0, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and XSL (Extensible Style Language). The companion Web site (www.htmlref.com) has been updated with examples and chapters from the new edition.
The new edition of HTML: The Complete Reference follows on the heels of Powell's best-selling Web Design: The Complete Reference (Osborne/McGraw-Hill, May 2000), a book that has already been adopted for use by the University of California, San Diego for Web publishing programs and upper division Web design classes. Previous editions of HTML: The Complete Reference have been translated into Spanish, Russian, and Japanese, along with English editions published in India and other countries.
Mr. Powell is currently on faculty at UCSD in Computer Science and is the lead instructor for the Web Certification Program at UCSD Extension. Mr. Powell's strong theoretical foundation in writing and teaching is bolstered by the experiences gained by founding and running PINT, Inc.
